The VB330-V Virtual Probe. This is similar to the VB330 but operates on any standard high-performance server blade. The VB330-V has the same features and capabilities of the VB330, and both can be mixed and matched to achieve the most convenient configuration depending on the user’s requirements. In addition, we have the VB220 and VB440-V. The VB220 works on both IP and hybrid networks with IP transport cores, such as digital cable and terrestrial systems, and delivers ethernet speeds up to 1GBit. The VB440-V provides dual 40GBit ethernet connectivity to monitor SDIoIP streams from 270MBit to 12GBit.

Wireline network service providers, LAN’s, WAN’s, SAN’s and Telco’s with diverse operations have deployed the software probes into new virtualized encoder and transcoder platforms. This is to overcome hardware limitations where they would not be able to access the virtual switching done inside the VM or in a cluster server configuration.
CATV, MSO’s, LAN’s, WAN’s and SAN’s also have the same hardware limitations, but they do allow deployment inside their datacenters, giving the additional advantage of monitoring and analysis of VoD content and real-time transcoded content.

What other types of technology have you implemented to address virtualization?
To provide the broadest conformability with various orchestration systems and platforms, we implemented a micro-architecture so we can easily compile the core database for any platform or technology. We have had 3rd party support for control of services and functions in our systems since 2006, so writing automated and service specific deployments is relatively easy.

Micro-architecture of software, so there will be no need for big-image deployment. Ultra-high time precision will be vital to achieve nano-second accuracy. Ultra-high bitrate compliance for 3G to 12G.
