We are now in an era where integrated end-to-end monitoring systems for QoS can do much more to ensure quality for the end user, by going far beyond mere verification that the equipment is functioning correctly, and instead giving the service provider total visibility and control over the integrity of the signal throughout the entire network. Or almost the entire network, because in the case of OTT services, the content delivery chain includes the internet. So the ability to check the quality of the service at the point of reception by the consumer is still essential if we are to have confidence that the user experience is as good as it should be.
