Phoenix AI Joins the NVIDIA Metropolis Software Partner Program
Tournai, Belgium — 19 February 2021
Phoenix AI – a company specializing in the implementation of artificial intelligence and deep learning for the automatic detection of IP camera-based security and transport elements – today announces its inclusion as a partner in the NVIDIA Metropolis program.
Phoenix AI is the brainchild of Laurent Renard and Nathalie Vinchent, ex-founders of I-MOVIX. Taking their extensive knowledge of camera performance, Renard and Vinchent developed a hardware-based machine learning product which could be installed directly on camera edge, without need for internet connection, server or cloud-based processing.
The net result was the flagship SM_All unit; an AI-based solution capable of performing up to four real-time detections in a single row, and detecting up to 60 images per second. The SM_All is generally applied in security, transport and smart city applications, where it can detect elements such as H&S PPE compliance in workers, transport flow, access control – or even across a city. In reality though, applications for the SM_All are almost unlimited, as the units can be trained to detect whatever elements are required by the client.
Based on an NVIDIA GPU computing platform, the unit maintains low power consumption and discreet dimensions. When these elements are combined with real-time output and flexibility in terms of network configuration, the SM_All represents an increasingly important addition to smart city infrastructures.
The partnership with the NVIDIA Metropolis platform will further enhance the ability of Phoenix AI to integrate flexibility, adaptability and full compatibility into their growing range of AI solutions.
The certified software, once deployed in the field, makes it hassle-free for companies to manage and upgrade software easily and scale out their IVA solutions everywhere. This includes high-end smart sensors, such as those found with Phoenix AI’s Sm_All edge on-device solution.
“I am pleased and honored that NVIDIA has certified Phoenix AI as a Metropolis Program partner and sees value in our Sm_All hardware Platform and its IVA component,” said Laurent Renard, CEO of Phoenix AI. “In addition to our current video security modules for railway environments and public cleanliness, our team continues to look at other module applications, including an innovative Industry 4.0 vision setup. Our Platform, including our video object recognition capabilities, will help communities to not only become smarter, but safer from a variety of seen and unseen behaviors.”
Phoenix AI’s development team is working with NVIDIA to integrate the Sm_All software, including its multiple setup components, into the NVIDIA Metropolis platform. As a program partner, Phoenix AI plans to promote its offerings at NVIDIA and third-party events, as well as gain early access to various NVIDIA hardware and SDKs, which will further speed up deep-learning application development time and performance.

About Phoenix AI
Founded in 2017, Phoenix AI delivers hardware and software solutions for embedded AI applications, delivering real-time, intelligent insight into video data, be this in the field of live broadcast, security industry 4.0, or as part of smart city. Based on NVIDIA’s GPU and capable of being ‘taught’ to recognize nearly any element, Phoenix AI’s flagship product – the SM_All – represents a vital component for clients who are seeking smarter understanding of their environments; workplaces, transport infrastructures or full cities – indeed, any place where intelligent insight is required.
NVIDIA’s invention of the GPU in 1999 sparked the growth of the PC gaming market, redefined modern computer graphics, and revolutionized parallel computing. NVIDIA Metropolis transforms data from trillions of AI and IoT devices into valuable insights.
The NVIDIA Metropolis program allows companies to create complete solutions for video capture, processing, storage, and visualization – from the edge to the cloud. The partner certification program offers system design tools and turnkey software packages enabling pre-validated, enterprise-ready intelligent video analytics (IVA) solutions that can be deployed to build smarter and safer environments worldwide.
