Booth will focus on integrability of lighting solutions

Press Release

Munich, Germany — March 29, 2023

Astera – a leading developer of innovative light solutions for film and event markets – will be using their attendance at NAB 2023 (Booth C.5345) to showcase their growing portfolio of lighting solutions, which includes not only their core range of innovative lights, but a selection of add-on accessories which maximise the creative potential of the range as a whole.

Complimenting the established selection of LED products, LED bars and Tube lights – including the Helion, Titan and Hyperion Tube – comes the newly introduced HydraPanel; a portable, powerful 1300 lumen light that fits in the palm of your hand. Watertight, robust and weighing just 600g, the HydraPanel can be mounted anywhere – indoors or outdoors – with a battery life of 1:45hrs. But what really sets the HydraPanel apart is the creative control it grants gaffers: with beam shaping and six interchangeable light modifiers that click on and off in an instant, lighting professionals are granted full flexibility without comprising their workflow efficiency. Wireless DMX, CRMX and BluetoothBridge allow for quick, intuitive app-based control of colour mix and dimming, with an incredible 750 to 20,000 Kelvin range and Full Spectrum RGB+Mint+Amber colour. As with the entire Astera lighting range, a powerful Titan LED Engine powers the lights and ensures absolute colour fidelity and lighting consistency, which means any number of different Astera products can be easily coordinated to produce seamless lighting on any set.

hYDRApANEL-ASTERA-LIGHTING-nab2023Building on these impressive technical specs, the creative potential of the HydraPanel has yet further been extended with the addition of the new 2 up to 4 HydraPanel SnapBag; a softbox which allows incorporation of up to four HydraPanels. The SnapBag uses DoPchoice’s Snapshape™ material to ensure wrinkle-free setup and a bright and even output, and can be combined with a SnapGrid to provide directional focus. With this addition, the already extensive flexible application of the HydraPanel is taken even further, allowing for a diverse range of creative applications.

Logistical flexibility is also increased for the entire lighting range through Astera’s newly launched RuntimeExtender. Ideal for gaffers and event lighting coordinators, the RuntimeExtender allows lighting engineers to leverage their existing battery sources – both 14.4V and 26V, using either ‘V-mount’ and ‘Gold Mount’ connections. The full portfolio of Astera 24V lights is supported, with the RuntimeExtender maintaining a rating of 24V 100W shared across two DC outputs, and any potential future expansions are accommodated with the additional inclusion of a 3-pin XLR socket with unregulated output.

As with the lights themselves, a core consideration is facilitating flexible, secure, discrete and easy setup, through the integration of a range of mounting and connection options, including mounting accessories and extended features.

As a result, Sebastian Bückle, Sales & Marketing Director at Astera, said of their presence at the 2023 NABShow Centennial: “Tradeshows such as NAB give our customers an unrivalled opportunity to see our lighting range in one place – and to us that’s truly important, because what sets Astera apart is not just the technology embedded in each product, but the way they have been designed to coordinate together, providing an unmatched level of flexibility, versatility and creative potential. When lighting professionals are able to hold the products in hand and feel how lightweight but robust they are, they are quickly impressed”. He continued: “NAB will also give us the chance to meet more personally with our core customers, and outline to them the exciting further portfolio growth we have planned for the upcoming months”.
