IBC 2017 – Fantastic people, great memories, plenty of H2O and possibly too much caffeine.
Thanks to all the journalists for meeting our customers and the great coverage in the IBC Daily.
The pedometer tells me that we walked, skipped and ran about 50 kilometers over the 5 days. Just as well that Denise and I had stayed fit in the weeks coming up to IBC Show…
We are grateful for all the conversations we have had with our customers (thanks for the dinners and for the daily water supplies), industry friends and prospects.
Both Danish licorice (Vintage Cloud) and Belgian chocolates (Image Matters) kept our sugar levels up and guaranteed our good humor! VSN offered us a delicious jamón serrano and NOA made sure we had two Austrian Schwedenbomben before running to the next meeting.
The best coffee we had was without doubt Lavazza espresso on The Broadcast Bridge booth.

NOMAD Cafe’ on the Bridge Technologies booth was the place to be at IBC 2017.
It was really popular and in the evening, it turned into a cozy bar with snacks and beer. Plus, they had some “nomadic” USB chargers for our phones which became a necessity by the end of each day.
We had great fun on the Zero Density booth where we posed as newscasters on their virtual reality set (a fantastic experience)!
Sadly, we missed the disco party on the Appear TV booth this year.
On the technology front we were impressed by several presentations such as the interoperability in the IP Showcase, robotics, 8K, VR, machine learning… and clearly the advancements in IP are evident and 5G is on its way.
