Yesterday I went out to capture the beautiful scenery which nature had created after a freezing night.
I left home with my camera and my IPhone. I was determined to be quick and go back to work in no time. After ten minutes walking, a magnificent view left me speechless. Everything was white, still, frozen.
I started taking a few pictures and felt like being part of a movie. The beauty around me was nearly surrealistic. Suddenly I heard somebody greeting me while commenting: “Beautiful, isn’t it?” I nodded and replied “Yes. it is. I love it”. I kept on walking towards my favorite spot. To my surprise, I met at least twelve more people who started conversing with me.
When I came home I started thinking about all those encounters and the fact that a lot of strangers, who might usually be reserved, had turned into very social individuals.
Why had it become so easy to connect, to engage?
I firstly thought it was just due to the beautiful scenery surrounding us. We had then something in common to talk about, a feeling to share.
Eventually I realised that my smile, my happiness while taking these captions, were the real key that opened the door to anybody. I was approachable, reachable. I was loaded with positive energy. I was happy to share. I was ready to engage.
This is the best example I could give when talking about the human factor, the human touch we need to provide also in our business.
And finally, I wonder if my small audience did perceive me like an influencer that day…
